About the de Borda Institute
The de Borda Institute aims to promote the use of inclusive voting procedures on all contentious questions of social choice.
This applies specifically to decision-making, be it for the electorate in regional/national polls, for their elected representatives in councils and parliaments, for members of a local community group, for members of a company board, for members of a co-operative, and so on. The de Borda Institute aims to promote the use of inclusive voting procedures on all contentious questions of social choice.
CiviQ's mission is to improve engagement between citizens, governments and organisations on public issues. CiviQ's online consultation portal enables citizens to make online submissions and comment and collaborate on submissions during consultation periods. We also provides services for the analysis and visualisation of natural public opinion to local governments, public organisations and industry. From a stream of public opinion CiviQ works with stakeholders to identify and visualise the main perspectives on an issue and show how a broad flow of opinion maps throughs these perspectives. CiviQ products are based on recent ground-breaking innovations in deliberative democratic theory.
CiviQ has collaborated with the De Borda Institute to provide the Decision-Maker voting application to enable citizens and representatives to explore the benefits of multi-option voting on social and political issues.
